Job Title: Business Development Manager (Offshore)

Reports to: Sales Manager
Location: Aberdeen

We are currently looking for an individual who works in the business development field and has some knowledge or understanding of the offshore oil and gas sector OR an individual who has come from an engineering background but would like a fresh challenge or a career change into business development. Is that you?

Requirement for Travel: Edinburgh Seebyte Office at least 4 times a year, also Houston, London.
Essential Purpose of Role:
To develop the business from current and new customers in order to meet offshore sales targets; whilst maintaining SeeByte’s reputation as a leading software house with industry knowledge.
Below are the main competency areas, and within them are the key tasks and activities to which performance shall be judged.
Client Care/Sales - Planning, Analysis and Reporting
• Identifying the appropriate customer needs and arranging meetings that involve the most appropriate industry specialists to demonstrate the Companies capabilities.
• Strong sales skills required with basic consultative selling ability (ability to generate leads and spot opportunities).
• Familiarity with a consultative solution selling approach.
• Reporting to company at both opportunity stages and product requirements stage.
• Manage channel strategy for Offshore sector.
• Attend Industry Events.
Client Care – Relationship Management
• Ability to engage with oil operators and contractors on business issues.
• Generating and qualifying leads into named accounts, combined with day to day responsibility of following up and managing the relationship for all current prospects.
• Ability to develop and maintain internal and external relationships.
Knowledge and Experience
• Experience and background in the Offshore Industry sectors, with a proven track record in these industries.
• Understanding of key trends and pain points in these industries.
• Awareness of key applications and different types of technology and their application in the industry.
• Knowledge of AUV and ROV sectors.
Communication and Team Working
• Excellent inter-personal/communications skills.
• Excellent writing skills
• Excellent presentation skills
• Excellent organisational skills
• Maintaining key internal relationships, with The Sales Manager and members of the Sales team.
• Can work well with others and can offer support as well as offer skills.
