French seismic data specialist CGG has announced the delivery of the eastern phase of its GeoVerse Carbon Storage Gulf of Mexico Study and the start of the westward extension of the study. CGG announced that Sercel now has a complete portfolio of seabed nodal solutions for all water depths down to 6,000 m to meet growing industry demand for ocean bottom node (OBN) seismic surveys. Based on Sercel’s QuietSeis broadband digital sensor technology, the full OBN portfolio includes the GPR300, the GPR700, the GPR3000 and the MicrOBS.The GPR300 nodal solution was designed for seismic acquisition in shallow water down to 300 meters. French seismic data firm CGG said Tuesday that its subsidiary Sercel had made a major sale of its GPR300 seabed nodal solution to Sinopec, the Chinese oil and gas exploration, refining, and distribution company. Offshore seismic data companies TGS and CGG on Wednesday announced the second phase of the Foz do Amazonas 3D multi-client survey, located in the offshore Brazil equatorial margin. Seismic data acquisition and processing companies CGG and TGS have together secured a contract for the acquisition and imaging of a dense ocean bottom node (OBN) multi-client seismic survey in the Sleipner Area of the Norwegian Continental Shelf (NCS).
