3D at Depth Completes 300 Offshore LiDAR Metrologies

Learning About Underwater Science

of school pupils with an exciting insight into the world of underwater science. SUT is inviting local schools to events in Aberdeen and London to help them learn about the careers opportunities that the oceans have to offer. The free events, which take place at the Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Center on December 2 and at the National Maritime Museum in Greenwich on December 4, will include a structured mix of audio-visual presentations by leading industry experts from a range of underwater science and technology backgrounds. The Aberdeen session is aimed at primary 6 and 7 children.

The Blue Energy Production in Ports (BEPPo) project partners will hold a free conference and workshop, “Orkney Marine Energy Port Infrastructure-Lessons for NSR Ports”, from September 24-25, 2014 in Inverness, at the Kingsmills Conference Center. Blue Energy is an emerging form of renewable energy, and this event will identify opportunities and the outstanding barriers and issues concerned with turning blue energy into real business activities. The Orkney Islands have led Europe in the deployment of marine energy, with 14 wave and tidal devices currently deployed and operating.
