Emerson Launches Salinity Measurement System

time.   The system, which is a key element of the Roxar Subsea Wetgas Meter and is based on microwave (MW) resonance technology, provides quantitative and qualitative real-time salinity measurements in many types of field conditions but, particularly, in the high gas volume fraction (GVF)/wet gas flows that characterize wet gas fields.    “With oil and gas wells being produced over a broader range of process conditions and water salinity and conductivity a key operational parameter for reservoir management and flow assurance, the timing for our new salinity system couldn&rsquo

Israel to Use Seaborne Missiles to Guard Gas Fields

missiles from a moving boat, said Colonel Ariel Shir, the navy's head of operational systems.   Israel has boosted its naval defences over the past decade after the discovery of sizeable natural gas deposits off its Mediterranean coast.   While the biggest fields are far from shore, the gas flows to platforms in shallower waters that can be seen from the southern Israeli coast, putting them in range of the kinds of rockets fired by militants in the Gaza Strip.   Iron Dome batteries have proven capable of shooting down around 90 percent of Palestinian rockets fired from Gaza, according

wells are brought online. The Greater Ekofisk Area, located approximately 200 miles (300 km) offshore Stavanger, is comprised of four producing fields: Ekofisk, Eldfisk, Embla and Tor. Crude oil from Greater Ekofisk's producing fields is exported via pipeline to Teesside, England, and natural gas flows via pipeline to Emden, Germany. ConocoPhillips (35.1%) operates the Greater Ekofisk Area. The other Ekofisk co-venturers are Total (39.9%), Eni (12.4%), Statoil (7.6%) and Petoro (5.0%)
