Gross Gas Column News

SapuraKencana makes another Gas Find Offshore Malaysia

Bakong gas discovery. Based on analysis of electric log, pressure and sample data Jerun-1 has an interpreted gross gas column of approximately 800m in the primary target reservoir and is a multi-TCF gas discovery. Jeremin-1, located approximately 15km west of the F9 gas field encountered a 104m gross gas column. Putat-1, located approximately 20km north of the Cili Padi gas field is confirmed as a dry hole. All wells have been safely plugged and abandoned. These two wells, Jerun-1 and Jeremin-1 together with the earlier five discoveries within the SK408 block are close to existing infrastructure

Woodside's Second Gas Discovery in Myanmar

Woodside advises that the Thalin-1A exploration well in Block AD-7 in the Rakhine Basin has intersected a gross gas column of approximately 64m. Approximately 62m of net gas pay is interpreted within the primary target interval. Block AD-7 is located in the Bay of Bengal, approximately 100km offshore of the west coast of Myanmar. Water depth at the Thalin-1A well location is 836m. The well reached a total depth of 3034m, referenced from the rig rotary table. Following drilling, wireline logging was conducted and confirmed the presence of a gas column through pressure measurements and gas sampling.

Woodside Discovers Gas Offshore Myanmar

Woodside advises that the Shwe Yee Htun-1 exploration well in Block A-6 in the Rakhine Basin, located in the western offshore area of Myanmar, has intersected a gross gas column of approximately 129 m. Approximately 15 m of net gas pay is interpreted within the primary target interval. The well reached the planned original total depth (TD) of 4810 m, referenced from the rig rotary table. Following drilling, wireline logging was conducted and confirmed the presence of a gas column through pressure measurements and gas sampling. The well was subsequently deepened to a final TD of 5306 m.

upstream production facilities and infrastructure. Also, the Mzia-3 DST, along with previous appraisal activities, supports our efforts to optimise the value of a development across our Block 1 discoveries." Mzia, discovered in 2012, is a multi-layered field of Upper Cretaceous age with a gross gas column in excess of 300 metres. The Mzia and Jodari discoveries in Block 1 are estimated to hold around 9 trillion cubic feet (tcf) of total gross recoverable resources, with around 15 tcf of total gross recoverable resources, around 2.5 billion boe, across Blocks 1, 3 and 4. The drill ship, the

Exploration Well in Drivis Completed

Operator Statoil has together with PL532 partners made an oil and gas discovery in the Drivis prospect in the Barents Sea. This concludes the 2013/2014 exploration programme around the Johan Castberg field. Well 7220/7-3 S, drilled by the rig West Hercules, has proven a 68 metre gross gas column in the Stø formation and an 86 metre gross oil column in the Stø and Nordmela formations. Statoil estimates the total volumes in Drivis to be in the range of 44-63 million barrels of recoverable oil equivalent (o.e.), out of which 42-54 million barrels of oil. In May 2013 Statoil launched
