James Fisher Appoints Subsea Ops Director

James Fisher Marine Services appointed Simon R. James as its new Subsea Operations Director effective February 2020.James joins with more than 25 years’ of experience in the marine, offshore and subsea service sectors, having held director-level roles at DeepOcean, Fugro and Iremis.In his career to date, Simon has worked with large and prestigious companies, both in the UK and abroad. Most recently, he held the position of Director of Operations at EM&I Group where he improved effectiveness and drove efficiency across operations in the Americas, Africa, Canada and Southeast Asia.

Lukoil Scans for Treasures Ahead of Oil Exploration

A recent subsea survey project in the Black Sea has scanned for ancient shipwrecks and other archaeological treasures ahead of future oil exploration in the area.UK based services firm James Fisher Marine Services (JFMS) said it completed the deep-towed subsea survey on behalf of Russian oil and gas company Lukoil in waters offshore Romania that are known to hold treasures dating back to Venetian golden era of centuries ago.The survey covered an 8- by 6.13-kilometer grid over three planned exploration wells in approximately 1,000 meters water depth, in the Ex30 Trident Block.Being the site of a recent

JFMS, Atlantis to Deliver Specialist Services on World’s Largest Tidal Array

James Fisher Marine Services (JFMS), part of James Fisher and Sons plc, has been granted preferred supplier status for a five-year period in connection with the operations and maintenance (O&M) of the MeyGen Phase 1A tidal turbines. Three turbines have been supplied by Andritz Hydro Hammerfest, and the fourth by Atlantis – each with a rated power of 1.5 MW. James Fisher Signs Cooperation Agreement with OMS

Vattenfall Adopts James Fisher’s Mermaid
