Recovering Evidence with Technology

are a massive, crime related item actively being sought by investigators on scene. Phones contain multiple sources of information that could lead investigators down the right path of case solving, becoming essential to recover. The Pulse 8X is the perfect tool to help locate that missing evidence. JW Fishers Mfg., Inc has been a producer of metal detectors for police, sheriff departments, government agencies and dive rescue teams. The Pulse 8X is the “go to” metal detector for those who want a commercial detector that can handle the rigors of police and underwater searching on a constant

Tech Spotlight: JW Fisher’s CT-1 Cable Tracker

What options exist when safe mission execution depends upon the identification and tracking of important power or communication cables? Both on land and submersed, the location and mitigation of important cables is an essential step in any construction or salvage project. JW Fishers Mfg. has the tool for the job; the CT-1 Cable Tracker, specifically designed to locate and track buried power and communication cables, both on land or underwater. This advanced tracking system comes complete with everything needed to effectively track subsea cable. The CT-1 package consists of a shore-based signal injector

bottom to prevent snagging by anchors and fishing. Additional and increasingly strict rules exist for piping in heavily polluted areas. This depth of burial makes it very difficult to locate these pipelines with conventional metal detectors as they are often beyond the device's detection range. JW Fishers Mfg. has developed a solution to this increasingly challenging task in the form of the PT-1 Pipe Tracker. This “pinpointing” magnetometer is designed to detect variations in pipeline (couple or ends) to help aid in tracking and location. One geological survey company, Lighthouse, has

New Underwater Metal Detector from JW Fishers

JW Fishers Mfg. said it will introduce a new underwater metal detector for 2017: the SAR-1 Search and Recovery metal detector.   Developed as a result of extensive product testing and customer feedback, the new detector was specially designed for use by public safety dive teams, law enforcement agencies and military units that need to locate metal objects in poor visibility underwater environments. The SAR-1 alerts the operator to the presence of metal by vibration which is transmitted through the handle. Even in zero visibility, the user can feel the intense vibration conducted through the

America. She has worked on a number of high profiler projects with husband and colleague Dr. Bill Breece. “I am very excited about the new program and the opportunity it will offer students to both work in marine archaeology and operate the equipment used in these projects.” She choose JW Fishers Mfg. as the supplier for the needed equipment acquiring a sub bottom profiler, side scan sonar, magnetometer, underwater video system and metal detector. “I went with Fishers because we could get all of the gear from one source, and they offer free training.”   Another institution

Dive Teams Depend on Detection Devices

Press Release -- Public safety dive teams depend on sonars, ROVs and underwater metal detectors to accomplish underwater search operations safely and effectively, says underwater search systems designer and manufacturer JW Fishers Mfg.   When a New York man accidentally fell from a concrete ledge into the Genesee River, the Rochester Police dive team was immediately dispatched. The incident commander made the decision to deploy a SCAN-650 scanning sonar recently acquired from JW Fishers. The sonar transmits a sound wave that sweeps a circle up to 200 feet in diameter. The wave bounces off
