Hellenic Cables Awarded Cable Contract for Gennaker Offshore Wind Farm

80 km of 220kV submarine and 210 km of 220kV underground cables as well as related accessories and they are expected to be installed and delivered in 2027.The value of the contract is approx. Balmoral's Large-scale Composite Manufacturing Plant in Montrose Port Now Operational

Aberdeen-based Balmoral Comtec has completed the installation of its manufacturing plant at its new advanced composites facility at Montrose Port.The company said it had invested a "seven-figure sum" in the 18,299 sq.ft (1700 sq.m) quayside facility where large scale composite components such as subsea and wellhead protection, wave energy structures, and manifold covers for the offshore energy sector will be built.Balmoral Comtec said the investment would help it service the offshore industries more effectively "as it strengthens its commitment to the wind, wave and tidal energy sectors.

UK: JDR Starts Construction of $148,M Subsea Cable Manufacturing Plant

Subsea cable supplier JDR Cable Systems (JDR) has started construction of its new subsea cable manufacturing facility in Cambois, near Blyth, Northumberland, UK.The 69,000-square-meter factory will be operational by 2024.
