with 50lbs of force.   Thickness Testing The DT640Mag Utility MagCrawler, can determine the thickness of metal on corroded and coated structure by mounting a thickness gauge probe on its arm.  The magnets give the Utility Crawler the ability to travel in almost any direction on ferrous metal surfaces.    “Deep Trekker continues to innovate to provide the easiest to use and most portable inspection technologies, without compromising durability or capabilities,” commented Sam Macdonald, Deep Trekker President. “The new DT640 Utility Crawler product line has been

NYK Jointly Develops Innovative Anti-rust Agent

NYK and Agua Japan Co. Ltd. have jointly developed an innovative anti-rust agent to prevent iron and steel rust on vessels. The new agent, Marine Guard 100 (MG 100), has rust conversion properties, and paint containing the agent can be applied to metal surfaces.   The anti-rust efficacy of MG 100 was verified during two and half years of testing on the deck, ballast tank,* piping, and other metal surfaces of an oceangoing coal carrier. The coal carrier used for the test is owned by NYK and its ship manager is Hachiuma Steamship Co. Ltd.   Conventionally, when crew members engage in

Mooring Line Chafe Protection

Line Protection System that is designed to separate the mooring line from all surfaces that will chafe the line. The Eddy System will exceed the breaking strength of the line application, to reduce the possibility of ”Snap Back Phenomenon,” provides chafe protection between mooring line and metal  surfaces, at points of contact and eliminates wear on polished Stainless Steel bits. Flexibility of Eddy System will provide chafing protection for 360 degrees within the I.D. of a chock and eye.   The Eddy System is UV protected. When the mooring line is at maximum tension the internal
