Zeebrugge Port Deploy 5G Network

Port of Zeebrugge, Belgium, will have its own private 5G network this year, disclosed the container, bulk cargo, new vehicles and passenger ferry terminal port in the municipality of Bruges.The port’s management will collaborate with Citymesh, which is the only operator to have a license for 5G networks in Flanders and Brussels."The private 5G network in the Port of Zeebrugge will be the accelerator for innovation in and around the port," the port said.The network’s brain is located in the port’s datacenter. Prysmian Secures Rentel Wind Farm Work

by a consortium of Belgian specialists in renewable energy, who have joined forces to develop, finance and operate the Rentel offshore wind project, which holds a 309 MW offshore wind concession in the Belgian North Sea.    The Rentel wind farm is located approximately 34 km from the Port of Zeebrugge and approximately 40 km from Oostende off the Belgian coast. It will consist of 42 Siemens D7 type wind turbines and will produce nearly 309 MW at its peak, supplying CO2 friendly electricity to 285,000 households. RV Belgica to Undergo Electrical Systems Refit

1,200 metric tons.   The vessel is owned by the Belgian Science Policy Office (BELSPO) on behalf of the Belgian State and is managed by the Royal Belgian Institute of Natural Sciences (RBINS). The Belgian Navy provides the crew, operational support and a dock at the vessel’s home port of Zeebrugge.   The ship is made available to Belgian scientists to carry out maritime scientific research. Activities include the monitoring of the water quality of the North Sea, where scientists continuously collect data on the biological, chemical, physical, geological and hydrodynamic processes
