ScottishPower Renewables Supports Proserv's Offshore Wind Cable Monitoring Tech

ScottishPower Renewables, part of the Spanish renewables giant Iberdrola, has granted industrial sponsorship to Proserv Controls for its subsea cable condition monitoring system for the offshore wind segment.The system, called Electro Cable Guard, or ECG has been initiated and driven by Proserv with support from its consortium partners Synaptec, a power system monitoring firm, and cable engineering specialists BPP Cable Solutions. "The system offers a paradigm shift in present market offerings around condition monitoring of both inter-array and export cables," Proserv Controls said.

Aker Solutions, Siemens Energy to Deliver HVDC Converter Stations for 1.4GW Wind Farm in UK

Norwegian offshore engineering and construction firm Aker Solutions, in a consortium with Siemens Energy, has signed a contract with ScottishPower Renewables for the supply of the HVDC (high-voltage, direct current) converter stations for the East Anglia THREE offshore wind project in the UK.The delivery of what Aker Solutions says is "a very large" EPCI scope for East Anglia THREE is subject to the project reaching financial close in 2022.Aker Solutions defines a ‘very large’ contract as being between NOK 2.0 billion ($241 million) and NOK 3.0 billion ($361.5 million)East Anglia

Rovco Awarded Funding for 3D Visualization Project

3D vision and AI survey technology.The funding will support the project's next stage, AUV3D Phase 2, which continues from the Phase 1 project and trials proving the technology at the Offshore Renewable Energy (ORE) Catapult’s test center.
