Shearwater and Mondaic Enter Strategic Alliance to Optimize Seismic Surveys

Marine seismic acquisition firm Shearwater Geoservices and Mondaic, a provider of proprietary software and services for high-resolution 3D imaging, have entered a strategic collaboration for development and use of full waveform inversion solutions to enhance high-resolution subsurface imaging and optimize seismic acquisition surveys.As part of the agreement, Shearwater has acquired exclusive and perpetual rights for the use and further development for subsurface applications of Mondaic’s wavefield simulation and inversion codes.Furthermore, Shearwater has acquired an equity stake in Mondaic.

Shearwater to Monitor Production at Equinor’s Two Oil and Gas Fields

Shearwater GeoServices has secured two 4D monitoring projects from Equinor for the Mariner field in the UK North Sea and the Heidrun field in the Norwegian Sea offshore Norway.Shearwater will deploy its Isometrix technology for both surveys, applying 4D seismic monitoring to detect reservoir dynamics over time, for optimizing reservoir management and enhancing production efficiency.This will be the fourth Isometrix deployment for Mariner, complementing previous monitor surveys in 2020 and 2022, and the third for Heidrun, following surveys in 2018 and 2021.The surveys are expected to take two months

Spirit Energy Hires Shearwater for CCS Seismic Survey in UK

UK-based oil and gas firm Spirit Energy has awarded a contract to Shearwater Geoservices to conduct a seismic survey in the East Irish Sea, as part of the Morecambe Net Zero (MNZ) carbon capture and storage (CCS) project.The six-week operation is scheduled for the summer of 2024 and will be Shearwater’s fifth CCS survey in the last two years.It relates to Spirit Energy’s recent carbon storage license received from the UK’s North Sea Transition Authority (NSTA) in May 2023, and the acquired data will support all subsequent models and mapping for CCS initiatives.Spirit Energy Nets CO2

Shearwater Gets 3D Seismic Job Offshore India

Norwegian marine seismic services firm Shearwater GeoServices has been contracted by the Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) for a 3D seismic survey project in the Cauvery Basin, located off the east coast of India.This is another contract awarded recently by ONGC to Shearwater, following the OBN survey deal signed earlier in February.Set to begin in the early months of 2024, the project will cover a 4,600 km2 area in the Bay of Bengal, utilizing the SW Empress to carry out the survey.This initiative underlines Shearwater's role in supporting efficient and technologically advanced exploration

Shearwater to Introduce Deepwater Dual-ROV OBN Deployment Vessel

Marine seismic survey services specialist Shearwater GeoServices is set to introduce its first dual ROV seismic vessel, which the company says will be equipped with a broad scope of operational capabilities. "Designed to deploy ocean bottom nodes in both deep and shallow water, the vessel will also be able to provide high-quality source for surveys and conduct towed streamer surveys," Shearwater said.The dual ROV vessel, under Shearwater ownership and management, is expected to be available in the second quarter of 2023 following a conversion of the SW Tasman multipurpose vessel.

Petrobras Taps Shearwater for Large OBN Survey Offshore Brazil

NSNR Taps Shearwater for Devil’s Hole Horst Prospect Survey
