Gracing the cover of the June 1, 1957 edition was a  “Huge Oil Drilling Barge” the Margaret which was one of the largest ever built at 300 ft. long, 200 ft. wide and 93 ft. high, capable of an operating depth of 65 ft. Margaret was built by Alabama Dry Dock & Shipbuilding Company for the Ocean Drilling and Exploration Company, New Orleans.

CRA Welcomes New Survey Vessel

survey company involved in a variety of on and under-water high technology projects nationwide, announced today that their newest 26 foot survey vessel arrived this week. The local Houston firm is excited about their newest addition to their business, and will be kicking off the celebration with a Southeast Texas- style crawfish boil. The new survey yacht will be all-aluminum construction with a 9-foot cabin console and two 115 horsepower outboard engines. Scully’s Metal Fabrication, based out of Morgan City, La., have teamed up with Chris Ransome and Associates on the construction of the boat
