Ocean Sun, Statkraft Working to Retrieve Sunken Solar Plant in Albania

Norwegian floating solar tech company Ocean Sun is working to retrieve its floating solar power plant that sank in Albania earlier this month.As previously reported, Statkraft and Ocean Sun said the first of four Ocean Sun floating solar plants - covering 4,000 square meters and with nearly 1600 solar panels - had started operation on Wednesday, June 2, at the Statkraft Banja reservoir in Albania.However, a week later on June 9, Ocean Sun said there was an incident with the floater, located on Statkraft’s 72-megawatt hydropower plant, where the floating ring with membrane and two connected

Norwegian Firms Deploying Floating Solar Plant in Albania

Norwegian hydropower company Statkraft and its compatriot technology supplier Ocean Sun are set to start the construction of the planned 2 MWp floating solar pilot project in Albania.The pilot has an estimated total investment of EUR 2 million and will be placed at the Banja reservoir, where Statkraft is operating its 72 MW Banja hydropower plant.“Now that all regulatory approvals are in place, we have issued a notice to proceed to Ocean Sun for implementing the first phase of the project. Statoil increases Share in UK Offshore Wind

Statoil and Statkraft have signed a letter of intent that Statoil takes over as operator of the Sheringham Shoal Offshore Wind Farm from January 2017. Statoil will also through this deal increase its share in the Dogger Bank projects. Sheringham Shoal is one of the world’s 10 largest producing offshore wind farms providing renewable energy to up to 220 000 UK homes. Statoil Green Lights Floating Wind Farm Project

Statoil was the operator in the development phase for the 88 turbine Sheringham Shoal offshore Wind Farm, 20 kilometers off the coast of Norfolk. Sheringham Shoal started producing in 2012. ASI Marine & its Mohican ROV perform Deepest Tunnel Inspection

of the Cheves Hydropower Tunnel in Peru and ended up breaking the ASI company record for the deepest flooded tunnel inspection at 570 m water depth.  The Cheves Hydropower Project is being developed by EMPRESA DE GENERACIÓN ELÉCTRICA CHEVES S.A., a wholly owned subsidiary of Statkraft. MetOcean System Ordered for Dudgeon Wind Farm

Offshore Wind Farm will be built in water depths of 18-25 meters, located 32 kilometers off the coast of North Norfolk, U.K. Dudgeon Offshore Wind Limited, which holds the licences and consents to enable it to construct the Dudgeon Offshore Wind Farm, is owned by two Norwegian companies, Statoil and Statkraft, and Masdar of Abu Dhabi. Statoil is the operator on behalf of the partners.
