SMA Selects Teledyne CARIS

Teledyne CARIS has announced that the Swedish Maritime Administration (SMA) has selected Teledyne CARIS to provide tools for generalization of bathymetric data in nautical charts.Through a competitive tender process, SMA has chosen Teledyne CARIS to provide CARIS BASE Editor as the solution for the generalization of bathymetric data in nautical charts. Swedish Hydrographic Office Implements CARIS Production System

Teledyne CARIS said its Hydrographic Production Database (HPD) has been implemented as the Swedish Maritime Administration (SMA) production system, replacing the legacy software previously employed by SMA for the management of spatial data.   The SMA is responsible for accessibility and safety in the Swedish waters. Discover the Hidden Landscape of the Baltic Sea

country borders, hence requiring a level of detail in bathymetric data which cannot be supplied by conventional nautical charts. The Baltic Sea Bathymetry Database is developed as part of the EU TEN-T project MONALISA (Motorways & Electronic Navigation by Intelligence at Sea) with the Swedish Maritime Administration as lead partner. The development has also received funding from the Swedish Government data.bshc.pro

MMT Collects Sub-bottom Profiler Data

sub-bottom profile (SBP) data with a Kongsberg TOPAS PS 40 system. The system was hullmounted on MMT´s survey vessel Triad. The survey covered an area of 6000 km2 in the Baltic Sea with an extensive amount of data. The SBP data was collected during a hydrographic survey for the Swedish Maritime Administration (SMA) where high resolution bathymetric data will be used to update sea charts. Additionally will the SBP data from TOPAS PS 40 give the client a detailed picture of the sediment layers of the surveyed area. MMT´s Technical and Operation Director Martin Wikmar commented, &ldquo
