GMG Secures Cable Contract for Rampion Offshore Wind Farm

will center on a 96-fibre armoured cable supplied from Hexatronic, installed by the CS Recorder using the proven Hi-Plough to ensure appropriate cable protection in the hard chalk seabed.   Due to be completed and operational in 2018, the Rampion Offshore Wind Farm, owned by E.ON, the UK Green Investment Bank plc and Canadian energy company Enbridge, will generate 400MW of power, the equivalent of the electricity used by almost 347,000 homes, comparable to around half the homes in Sussex

First Turbine Installed at Rampion

(O&M) base at Newhaven Port will commence in March. The O&M base will include offices and warehousing and will employ up to 60 full time, permanent staff and store spare parts and tools to support the maintenance of the turbines.   The 400MW project being built by E.ON, the U.K. Green Investment Bank plc and Canadian energy company Enbridge, will, when complete provide enough electricity to supply almost 347,000 homes a year, equivalent to around half the homes in Sussex. The project is due to be completed and fully operational in 2018

Fugro Reduces Offshore Wind Development Down Time

After a winter break the two vessels will resume installation of the remaining 65 cables in spring 2017 and completion is expected by summer 2017. The Rampion Offshore Wind farm is being built 13km off the Sussex coast by E.ON, the UK Green Investment Bank plc and Canadian energy company Enbridge. The 400MW project is due to be completed in 2018.

Fugro to Install Cables for Rampion Wind Farm

Geotechnical, survey, subsea and geosciences services firm Fugro informs it has secured a contract for the installation and burial of array cables at the Rampion Offshore Wind Farm being built in the English Channel, 13 kilometers off the Sussex coast, by E.ON alongside partners, the UK Green Investment Bank plc. The contract will see Fugro lay and bury the cables with its construction and installation vessels Fugro Symphony and Fugro Saltire using one of its two Q1400 trenching systems to bury the cables. The array cables will be pulled in and laid between the wind turbines and the offshore
