Smith Named Head of UTEC

Paul Smith has been appointed group managing director at off- and onshore survey company UTEC Survey, part of subsea services group Acteon.Smith took over from previous managing director Stuart Cameron on August 20 and will lead UTEC from its headquarters within the Acteon building in Aberdeen, U.K.Since joining Acteon in 2011, Smith has undertaken a variety of commercial and operational roles. He was most recently responsible for the day-to-day management of UTEC’s operations worldwide. He has been a member of UTEC’s senior management team since 2016.

UTEC Comes up Big Offshore

Offshore and onshore survey provider UTEC Survey says it has completed a significant ROV navigation and seismic node positioning project in deepwater Gulf of Mexico.    The project, carried out for seismic nodal technology company FairfieldNodal and undertaken in 2,425 meters of water, involved use of the latest software and navigation technologies available to simplify operations, increase cost savings on an original scope of work, provide greater precision, increase efficiencies and thereby reduce job time.   UTEC conducted the project using a combination of acoustics and inertial

UTEC Appoints New Head of Finance

UTEC Survey, an Acteon company, has announced the appointment of Caroline McGovern as its new Head of Finance.    Before joining UTEC, Caroline was the CFO for MOL Energy UK where she was a founding director of the business which grew to comprise ownership of 20 North Sea exploration and production licenses.  Prior to that, Caroline was Finance Manager for EnQuest PLC, where she spent four years leading and supporting the finance function through their initial IPO listing on the U.K. stock market, and the company’s subsequent asset consolidation and growth period.    C
