Teledyne to Acquire Valeport
Teledyne Technologies Incorporated announced on Tuesday that it has entered into an agreement to acquire Valeport Holdings Limited and its affiliates. Valeport, founded in 1969 and headquartered in Totnes, U.K., designs and manufactures underwater sensors for environmental, energy, construction and defense applications. Terms of the transactions were not disclosed.Valeport provides complementary underwater sensors including sound velocity probes, current and flow meters, and conductivity, temperature and depth sensors. Valeport also provides multi-parameter profilers which can also measure turbidity
Valeport Showcases Latest Environmental Sensors at Oi24
At Oceanology International 24 (Oi24), Valeport will showcase for the first time the new optical sensor, Hyperion Crude Oil, which delivers high performance measurements of hydrocarbons to depths of 6,000m. Also featuring on the stand, is the Bathy2, an evolution in the collection of bathymetric data; the SWiFT Deep CTD, designed for those requiring CTD measurements to 6,000m; alongside further recent product releases designed with ease of use at their core, where a much improved user experience is now available alongside the highest quality, precise data, says Valeport.Hyperion Crude Oil - The

HydroSurv Funded to Commercialize Robotic Seagrass Solution
Harbour and the South Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The technology package has already significantly advanced seagrass mapping capabilities. HydroSurv started to develop the non-invasive solution, with Innovate UK support, in early 2022 in collaboration with the University of Plymouth and Valeport. This previous work focused on refining acoustic ground discrimination techniques from the robotic vessel platforms and was successfully demonstrated in live trials over the past two years. The partners envisage that this next stage of technology development will propel the concept towards scale
Thompson Joins Valeport as Product Manager
Valeport welcomes Amy Thompson as Product Manager.Thompson is an experienced oceanographic engineer that brings more than a decade of expertise from customer relations roles to this newly created position at Valeport.Joining from a Support Manager role at OceanWise, Thompson will strengthen Valeport’s Innovation and Product Department working with respected hydrographic professional, Iain Slade, who leads this department.Drawing on her operational oceanographic experience, Thompson’s new role sees her assisting in shaping the product strategy for all Valeport and Valeport Water products.
Valeport Expands
Valeport, a UK manufacturer of oceanographic and hydrographic instrumentation, is increasing its headcount and investing in the expansion of its south west UK-based premises, which now span over 44,000-sq.-ft. across three modern waterfront buildings. The environmental sensors manufacturer has acquired an adjacent riverside building, which has allowed the subsea specialist to respond to the uplift in demand for its precision probes and sensors and to increase production at its modern manufacturing facility. The new Radcliffe House will accommodate much of Valeport’s office-based staff, enabling

equipment such as weather stations, FerryBox, CTD, bathymetry, communications and safety. Additionally, an online dashboard will be created to convey the findings and capture stories through digital and broadcast content capture. The project is being supported by Plymouth Marine Laboratory (PML), Valeport, (which designs and manufactures oceanographic and hydrographic instrumentation), Mole Energy, Dartmoor Brewery and Henri Lloyd.Travelling to seldom-visited areas of the ocean each year between June and October, Ocean Warrior intends to cover 10,000 nautical miles each year, over the next 10 years
Valeport's 6000m Rated ‘Deep’ CTD
Valeport’s range of SWiFT profilers has been extended with the launch of a new addition for those requiring CTD measurements to depths of 6000m. The new profiler provides survey-grade sensor technology coupled with the convenience of Bluetooth wireless technology, a rechargeable battery and an integral GNSS module to geo-locate each profile. SWiFT Deep CTD can operate to 6000m, delivering directly measured conductivity, temperature and depth. The unit has an operational battery life of up to five days and the convenience of charge via USB.SWiFT Deep CTD - shown with its deployment
