GEA to Debut Rig Water Treatment System

GEA informs it will debut a new drilling rig drain water treatment system at Offshore Europe 2015, September 8-11 in Aberdeen.
Calling the new system “a must see for all semi-submersible drilling platform operators keen to conform to the IMO Regulations MEPC.107 (49)”, GEA said the skid mounted system enables all deck drains and spillages from drilling operations to be treated to less than 5ppm residual oil content. The system is designed for high performance and specifically to be insensitive to ship/rig motions.
GEA said the system also offers the possibility to retrofit existing systems, noting benefits from the uncomplicated handling and advantages regarding cost and time. In addition, lower residual oil content improves the charter rate of the drilling vessel.
