Denmark’s Tuco Marine has revealed its new dive support and ROV Support boat designs. The two new vessels complement the designer’s range of ProZero workboats and daughter crafts and are dedicated the dive and ROV markets.

The boats are optimized to be working platforms for underwater work, and work performed on the surface in support of divers and ROVs, Tuco said. These operations include underwater inspection, investigation, excavation, construction and repair or maintenance of, machinery and structures and the salvage of sunken property.

The 14-meter dive support boat features a divers deck that can be protected from the weather by a large canopy protecting the crew working on deck from the environment and supplying sufficient light at night to operating 24/7 from the vessel.

The 15-meter version meanwhile holds the same external features as the 14-meter little sister, but offers the possibility of a closed dive control/ROV control room in the deck house.

Both the 14- and the 15-meter vessel can be delivered with inboard diesels and jet drives or a triple OXE diesel outboard solution, as the outboard solution is giving extra deck space and space below the aft deck where up to 12 air cylinders can be fitted and with their low storage improving the stability of the vessels.

The main diving ladder is a central point of the aft working deck on both vessels that further both through the fiber-reinforced composite construction are designed to be significantly lighter then the market, and thereby offering better possibilities of hoisting as the boat is prepared for attaching hoisting point for hoisting onto a mother vessel, according to Tuco. Another benefit from constructing a lighter vessel is the fuel savings gained through the need for less horsepower required to reach the cruising speeds of the vessels.

For ROV operations, the decks are prepared for mounting double davits and A-frames.

Both the vessels are based on the hulls and flexible modular design of Tuco Marine Groups ProZero series that offers the customers a high level of customization.
