Hydroid is MassEcon Impact Award Finalist
Hydroid, Inc., a subsidiary of Kongsberg Maritime and manufacturer of autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs), announced it has been named a finalist for the 11th Annual Massachusetts Economic Impact Awards.
Designed to recognize excellence in job growth, facility expansion, and investment, the award celebrates companies that have made outstanding contributions to the Massachusetts economy as of January 2014. Hydroid has grown more than 33% the past three years and plans to add 40 additional jobs before the end of 2014. They recently completed a 40,000ft2 building in Pocasset, MA that houses the company’s engineering, manufacturing, and quality assurance operations. Plans are underway for an additional building in 2015.
Hydroid has emphasized its commitment to the environmental protection and economic maintenance of Cape Cod, working closely with the Town of Bourne and the Cape Cod Commission to ensure the building was completed to the highest standard.
Finalists competing in the MassEcon Impact Awards are sorted by region: West, Central, Southeast, Northeast, and Greater Boston. One winner is chosen from each division. Hydroid will compete in the Southeast division, offering a site visit and one minute pitch to a judging panel of seasoned business professionals. The winners from each region will be announced in October and recognized at an awards luncheon on November 25th in Boston.
