Precision acoustic instruments manufacturer LinkQuest Inc. has recently added a multibeam echosounder product into its product family of acoustic instruments: the EchoSweep 300 multibeam Echosounder.

According to LinkQuest, the EchoSweep 300 is a high-resolution, highly robust and cost-effective swath bathymetric system for the mapping of seafloor, inland waterways and reservoirs.

The EchoSweep 300 system, which maps the seafloor by a sweep of very narrow acoustic beams, is capable of reaching up to 280 meters in range with 140 beams. It operates at 260 KHz and has a swath coverage of 140 degrees. The new product can map the seafloor faster and in more detail than a single-beam echosounder, thereby reducing the user’s survey time and cost, LinkQuest noted.

The EchoSweep 300 system is a tool for hydrographic and bathymetric surveys, underwater inspections, dredging, pipe-line inspection, cable-laying, and many other underwater applications.
