QPS announce new Bathymetry Processing Platform at Hydro 14, Qimera - hydrographic processing evolved

Following a detailed and thorough evaluation procedure, Meritaito have now adopted Qimera for its large bathymetry data processing requirements. Last year alone Meritaito surveyed 8,000 square kilometers of seabed and lakes which requires fast and accurate data turnaround times. Qimera’s modern architecture and simple workflow allows Meritaito to handle these massive datasets like never before. Recording their data online using QINSy makes the process even easier as real-time flagged data is preserved all the way through to Qimera, thereby the online surveyor knowledge and input is not lost. Meritaito and QPS have worked closely to enhance features in Qimera which make it easier to deliver data to clients, like the Finnish Transport Agency.

Duncan Mallace, Head of Business Development at QPS, commented, “Meritaito have some of the toughest requirements for bathymetry processing, due to the Baltic Sea terrain and also the exceptionally high standard required by the regional hydrographic offices. ‘If it works here it will work anywhere’ is an over-used saying, but in this case it is actually true. QPS look forward to improving Qimera with Meritaito’s ongoing feedback.”

Hanno Kurtti, Data Processing Manager at Meritaito, added, “Qimera will help us achieve Meritaito’s goals in the international survey market by providing a high quality, exceptionally streamlined workflow which will allow us to be very cost effective while delivering the best possible data.”
