Sigma Xi Science and Engineering Research Exhibit

Every year, the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth sponsors an extraordinary event that spotlights student research work in science and engineering and provides an opportunity to meet and interact with undergraduate and graduate students and faculty mentors as they display and discuss their current research in science and engineering. Members of the industry and business community are cordially invited to join us in celebrating the 20th annual research exhibit and keynote lecture of the UMass Dartmouth Chapter of the Scientific Research Society, Sigma Xi.

The research presentation will be held from 12:30-2:30pm on April 15, 2014 and 10:00am-12:00pm on April 16, 2014 in the Claire T. Carney Library Living Room. The Sigma Xi Distinguished Lecturer, Dr. Gilda Barabino, Dean of the Grove School of Engineering at the City College of New York, will present a keynote address on  "Learning in Research Settings: Role of Identity Formation" at 3:00 pm on April 15th in the Claire T. Carney Library Grand Reading Room. Dr. Barabino has an extensive record of leadership and service in the chemical and biomedical engineering communities and currently serves as president of the Biomedical Engineering Society. She is a fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, the American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering, and the Biomedical Engineering Society.
