Spillex at Oceanology International

From an oil spill recovery solution in the form of a vessel, to antipollution operations at sea, and from oil containment booms, skimmers, tanks, powerpacks and vessels for oil pollution control, to emergency management and response, sensors; and cameras, Spillex, the dedicated offshore oil spill prevention and response exhibition, at Oceanology International 2014 (11-13 March, London ExCeL) is all about solutions.
 

As commercial operations in the world’s oceans continue to develop, the requirement to be able to operate with the least possible environmental impact is an even greater focus than it has ever been for all industries.

 
UKSpill is an industry partner for the Spillex area at Oceanology International, and as Roger Mabbott, Executive Director, UK Spill Association explains: “ Oceanology International has been proven to have many synergies for the spill industry, and by supporting Spillex, it emphasises our links with the marine science industries.“ The Spillex zone is also supported by EuroSpill. Not only does the area feature individual exhibitors, but within the UKSpill pavilion visitors will find Kill Spill project, represented by Newcastle University, and Ecots,  Project Netmar, represented by Porto University, and from UKSpill membership, Fosse Liquitrol Ltd, Wilton Biotechnologies, and OPEC Ltd.

Established in 1969, Oceanology International attracts those involved with all aspects of marine science and technology from all over the globe – total attendance was 7,669 in 2012. The exhibition this year is the largest ever with the 520 exhibiting companies from over 35 countries taking an additional 10% more space than at the record-breaking 2012 event.

 
Visitors can also see an array of vessels dockside, including survey and windfarm support vessels and dockside demonstrations; and there is an expanding programme of associated events run by supporting organizations.
