Webinar to focus on optimizing subsea installation analysis, helping companies minimize offshore time and costs.

Jee Ltd., an independent subsea engineering and training company, will draw on its subsea installation analysis experience to host a free-to-attend webinar exploring the topic on September 11, 2014.

Taking place globally, the webinar – “Optimizing Installation Analysis – a Pragmatic Approach” - will be presented by Jee Subsea Engineer, Robert Davies, with contributions from Martin East, a Jee Associate Principal Engineer.

Davies said, “With typical costs in excess of $200,000 per day, installation vessel time needs to be carefully planned in advance. New entrants to the market want to optimize their offshore program and so come to Jee for specialist installation analysis.”

“Jee has helped many companies avoid costly and long-running installation programs during the installation of flexible flowlines, subsea power cables and structures. The September webinar will demonstrate the philosophy behind good analysis and how to use pragmatic reasoning to avoid pitfalls.”

The webinar will also demonstrate how installation analysis tools such as OrcaFlex can be used to generate safe operating tables for different activities.

Davies has specific expertise and in-depth knowledge of installation analysis of subsea power cables, flexible risers, umbilicals and pipelines as a result of working on a wide range of projects, including a number of wind farm projects around the United Kingdom Continental Shelf.

Recently, Davies completed the allowable sea-state analysis using OrcaFlex for a wind farm project’s array cables, including surface-lay from the installation vessel, 1st and 2nd end deployment, and pull-in to the wind turbine generators and offshore substations. In addition, he has conducted installation analysis for a control umbilical to a North Sea FPSO using OrcaFlex, and analysis of four flexible risers in a mid-water arch configuration, including the production of dynamic lay tables, limiting sea states for surface lay, initiation and laydown.

Martin East, a Jee Associate Principal Engineer, will also be contributing to the webinar. With specialist knowledge of OrcaFlex, Martin is an authority on installation analysis having completed several projects analyzing installation of power cables, umbilicals and flexible risers, calculating pull-in and latching forces for various products.

The engineers at Jee work on a range of installation and in-place analysis for all subsea architecture. Jee has experience working with major oil and gas operators on the installation of flexible flowlines, spools and structures, and has also completed cable installation projects on offshore windfarms.
