Teledyne Marine said its team will be out in full force to showcase its range of solutions at Oceanology International North America 2017, held February 14-16 in San Diego where the group will offer facility tours, on water and dockside demonstrations, and a look at its latest products and technologies.

Local faculty tours
As San Diego is home to several Teledyne Marine brands, the group is offering an opportunity to arrive a day early and spend an afternoon touring four local Teledyne Marine facilities: Teledyne RD Instruments, Oceanscience, Impulse and SeaBotix – capped off with a trip to the Ballast Brewery.

Pre-registration is required. Full details and online registration.

On-water Demonstrations
Teledyne Marine’s Bottom Line, docked just outside the San Diego Convention Center, will provide a first-hand look at Teledyne products in action with on-water demonstrations.

Dockside Demonstrations
In addition to on-water demonstrations, the group will host dockside demonstrations of the Teledyne SeaBotix ROV and Teledyne Oceanscience Z-Boat, both equipped with other Teledyne technologies onboard.

New Products on Display
In addition to its full line of instruments, imaging, vehicles and interconnect products, the Teledyne Marine brands will promote the newest product developments, including the following:

New Teledyne Marine Imaging Products

L3C-HD UNDERWATER CAMERA - TELEDYNE BOWTECH
The updated release of the L3C-HD camera now features full HD 1080p up to 60fps to add the full list of HD-SDI outputs available. The camera also features simultaneous SD and HD-SDI output capability and is fitted with a fixed focus wide angle lens that provides a 67° diagonal angle of view in water. It is housed in 1,000m, 4,000m or 6,000m depth rated Titanium and is capped by a highly scratch resistant and 99.8% optically pure Sapphire window. Additionally, the new L3C-HD camera is approximately 40% smaller and lighter than its predecessor.

L3C-HDX UNDERWATER CAMERA - TELEDYNE BOWTECH
The key feature of the new L3C-HDX camera is that the digital signal from the camera is a visually lossless compressed signal that will travel up to 250m on a Teledyne Bowtech coax. Visually lossless compression adds zero latency to the signal and the video is viewed on an HD-SDI capable monitor after going through a small converter box. Built with the same depth rating options, inside the same Titanium housing and behind the same Sapphire window as the L3C-HD, the L3C-HDX only enhances the capabilities of Teledyne Bowtech’s underwater camera products.

MULTIBEAM SONAR SYSTEMS - TELEDYNE RESON
Teledyne RESON introduces four new multibeam sonar systems: the Integrated Dual Head SeaBat T20-R & T50-R and the modular SeaBat T20-R & T50-R Multibeam Sonars. These new multibeam sonars are all built on the cutting edge SeaBat T-series platform which delivers incredible data quality, enhanced sonar capabilities and a selection of sonar processors including the new Rack Mount processor — all allowing you to configure the solution to meet your needs and ensure that you maximize your investment.

New Teledyne Marine Instruments Products

R-SERIES ACOUSTIC RELEASES and UTS 9400 UNIVERSAL TOP SIDE - TELEDYNE BENTHOS
Teledyne Benthos will be rolling out a full line of new acoustic release technology rated for coastal to deep water applications, along with their new, highly popular UTS-9400 Universal Top Side, which operates with all of Teledyne Benthos acoustic releases and acoustic modems. This fully upgraded unit offers a litany of new features and capabilities, including a new user-friendly color touchscreen display, universal command capability and advanced ambient acoustic noise analysis to ensure your signal gets through.

RAPIDCAST - TELEDYNE OCEANSCIENCE
The Teledyne Oceanscience rapidCAST underway profiling system provides near real-time SV data to surveyors, while eliminating survey downtime and minimizing bathymetry data uncertainty. The automated profiler delivers sound velocity casts to 500 m at 6 kts speed through water while underway, without the requirement of an operator on deck.

SENTINEL V ADCP – REAL TIME / BOTTOM TRACKIING CONFIGURATIONS - TELEDYNE RD INSTRUMENTS
Teledyne RD Instruments will roll out its new real-time and bottom tracking configurations for the five-beam Sentinel V ADCP. The new configurations will greatly increase the capabilities and flexibility of this expanding product line.

New Teledyne Marine Interconnect Products

HORIZONTAL RETRIEVABLE MCDU - TELEDYNE ODI
The newest member of a modular family of subsea distribution units that provide connectorized junctions for underwater electrical and optical networking, the Horizontal Retrievable MCDU features a lighter, more cost-effective frame, highly visible ROV lifting handles, and wide openings to facilitate installation and removal of the housing. The compact frame design negates the need for lifting wires, making it easy for ROVs to install and retrieve the unit from the sea floor.

12,000M OPTICAL CONNECTOR - TELEDYNE IMPULSE-PDM
A cost-effective, dry-mateable optical connector and cable package for ultra-deep water applications, the 12,000 meter Optical Connector and cable from Teledyne Impulse-PDM features superior corrosion resistance in a reliable, compact assembly. Teledyne Impulse-PDM offers a standard cable PDM 140 from stock, which can be used for either single mode or multi-mode applications.

New Teledyne Marine Vehicles Products

NEW PLUG AND PLAY SCIENCE BAY MODULE - TELEDYNE GAVIA
The Gavia Science Bay module is a standard payload module that comes with several hull penetrations that accommodate a variety of scientific sensors, thus expanding the application portfolio for the Gavia AUV. Available sensors include WET Labs ECO pucks, SeaBird CTD and an Aanderaa Optode oxygen sensor. Additionally, two external wet plugs are available to provide power and serial communication for external devices and a weak link on the bottom allows for towing external sensors.

GAVIA MB-2250 SONAR MODULE - TELEDYNE GAVIA
A turnkey hardware/software solution for 2D/3D seabed mapping — The Gavia MB-2250 Module contains a Teledyne BlueView 2250 multibeam sonar. The embedded SmartCore processor provides both onboard storage of sonar data and UDP streaming of fully processed profiles. Use of the “Real-Time” profile data storage mode allows for extended mission profile data collection. The system provides turnkey solutions for many AUV missions, including 3D bottom mapping, high-resolution target rendering and side scan gap-fill.

SLOCUM FLEET MISSION CONTROL (SFMC) SOFTWARE - TELEDYNE WEBB RESEARCH
SFMC is a software suite to manage multiple Teledyne Webb Research Slocum glider. SFMC provides a web based front end that allows for collaboration among multiple glider pilots. The new SFMC software suite offers some key benefits including active vehicle tracking and mission planning, consolidated data management, the ability to access piloting tools from any platform including tablets and smartphones, and increased security with individual login accounts and multi-level permission sets.
