Energy and marine consultancy ABL has been awarded a contract by LLOG Exploration to provide marine warranty survey (MWS) services for the subsea development of the Salamanca project in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico.The Salamanca development project envisages the build-out of the Leon and Castille oil fields in water depths ranging from 1,800 to 2,000 meters.The subsea portion of the project includes the installation of three infield subsea pipeline systems, as well as the design and fabrication of subsea structures. The pipelines will run from the wellsite to the Salamanca floating production facility.
Helix Secures Five-Year Decommissioning Contract in Gulf of Mexico
U.S.-based oil and gas services firm Helix Energy Solutions has signed a five-year agreement with oil and gas company Talos Energy for decommissioning services in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico.Helix Energy Solutions will provide decommissioning services for offshore wells and infrastructure, primarily on the U.S. Gulf of Mexico Shelf as part of the agreement signed in February 2024.Decommissioning work under the contract is expected to start in the second quarter 2024, Talos Energy said in an update.This follows Helix Energy Solutions’ engagement in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico from 2023, when the company

Norwegian ocean services provider DeepOcean has completed the burial of a fuel support pipeline in the Gulf of Mexico on behalf of Genesis Energy after introducing its jet trenching system to the United States market.DeepOcean’s trenching system, UT-1, was used for the burial of a portion of the High Island A5 fuel support pipeline.On the designated six-inch pipeline sections, the UT-1 met burial requirements that included a three-mile section stretching across the Sabine Pass Fairway that called for the pipeline to be lowered to 10-foot top of product.The trenching work was conducted from the

Oilfield services company TechnipFMC has secured a ‘significant’ contract from BP for its Argos Southwest Extension project in the Mad Dog field.TechnipFMC will install pipe and an umbilical, tying back three new wells to the Argos platform in the Gulf of Mexico.For TechnipFMC, a significant contract is between $75 million and $250 million. Tracerco Wins Oil and Gas Inspection Contract in Gulf of Mexico
