VideoRay’s Newly Launched Mission Specialist Ally Put to the Paces on Key Bridge Collapse

This vehicle was met with great anticipation, as customers await production units to begin shipping in June.

However, when VideoRay stepped up to support the Baltimore Police Marine Unit and FBI in the wake of the tragic Key Bridge collapse, the team agreed that the Ally was the best tool for this incredibly challenging environment.

With its compact size, 4 knot power, and lateral thrust, Ally was quickly put the paces and lived up to its name, nimbly navigating the arduous debris field. VideoRay’s Tom Glebas, one of several seasoned operators on scene, reported “Ally flew extremely well, and most importantly, I didn’t get it hung up in what was probably the scariest place I’ve ever operated - as far as ROV traps go. With that level of performance, it should be easy for operators of all levels to successfully complete their missions.”

The new Ally shares common system components and modules with all other Mission Specialist vehicles for complete product line compatibility. The new underwater robot can be used to perform mission specific tasks and can also serve as a source for readily available spares modules to help ensure uptime on larger projects.
