AML’s UV Biofouling Control Seminar a Success
AML Oceanographic hosted its first UV Biofouling Control Seminar on October 2nd.
Held locally in Victoria, BC, attendees enjoyed breakfast while presentations were given on the technology behind AML’s biofouling control products, UV-Xchange and recently launched Cabled UV, and results from past
and current deployments.
Tom Dakin, Sensor Technologies Development Officer at Ocean Networks Canada, presented his experiences with UV-Xchange and Cabled UV thus far and his plans to use them in future deployments. Included was the stellar performances of UV-Xchange protected conductivity and turbidity sensors nearly one year after deployment. UV-Xchange has prevented the sensors from biofouling, allowing them to provide data consistent with their recently calibrated and deployed counterparts.
The presentations and informal setting prompted lively discussion between presenters and attendees. The event’s success has confirmed AML’s plan to host similar seminars in other regions.
