The theme for BTW 2019 is:
UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, Clusters & the Triple Helix

The UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development was adopted in 2015 with 17 global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).  It is a plan of action for people, planet and prosperity. Of particular note for BTW2019 are SDG6: Clean Water & Sanitation; SDG7: Affordable & Clean Energy; SDG14: Life below Water; and SDG17: Partnerships for the Goals. The UN  Water Action Decade (2018-2028) and the UNDecade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development (2021-2030) were adopted to mobilize the scientific community, policy-makers, business and civil society around a program of joint research and technological innovation.

This year we are expecting 700+ participants across 7 events over 5 days (up from 550+ in 2018).  They will be representatives of leading Triple Helix organizations from 18-20 countries.  This will include 150+ companies and investor groups.

The 8th annual Green Connections conference organized by the Finnish and Swedish Chambers of Commerce in San Diego, which will co-locate with BTW2019.

BlueTech Week is known for great speakers, great networking and great BlueTech in a multi-day, intimate setting that allows interaction with academic, cluster, government and industry leaders from around the world.  At its core are companies showing innovative and disruptive ocean & water/wastewater technologies looking for channel, financial, IP and strategic partners globally.

TMA is hard at work arranging speakers/panelists and has announced  2 confirmed keynote speakers:

Tuesday, Nov. 19:  Ariel Troisi - Chair, IOC (International Oceanographic Commission - part of UNESCO)

Wednesday, Nov. 20:  Erik Giercksky - Head of the Action Platform for Ocean, UN Global Compact
