Fugro Receives New Offshore Survey Vessel

Fugro has formally taken delivery of  'Fugro Brasilis', the fourth of Fugro’s FSSV series of dedicated offshore survey vessels.

Designed to the Dutch company's specifications and fitted with the latest survey equipment, Fugro say that these are the most advanced vessels in this field. The new vessel will be utilised on a variety of projects offshore South America.

Fugro Brasilis will be capable of carrying out a wide range of offshore services including geophysical mapping, bathymetric and geotechnical survey in water depths of up to 3,000 metres. When needed, the vessel can be configured to support AUV and light ROV operations. The 65 metre-long vessel is equipped with dynamic positioning and state-of-the-art survey equipment, making her the most versatile survey platform in the region.

is part of Fugro’s global fleet enhancement program with the objective of removing older tonnage from the fleet and meeting stringent industry safety and environmental standards.
