Fugro Undertakes Seabed Investigation for Hess

January 18, 2016

Fugro won a combined geophysical and geotechnical project by Hess Exploration Australia Pty Ltd (Hess) to assist in Hess’ activities in the Northern Carnarvon Basin offshore NW Australia. Fugro’s work will include seabed and shallow geological investigations including in areas of difficult terrain.
For the first phase of the survey Fugro will utilise one of its industry leading Hugin 1000 AUVs (autonomous underwater vehicles) to map the seabed. The data will be used to optimise planning for the subsequent sediment sampling phase where a variety of techniques will be used. Fugro’s geoconsultancy team will also deliver an integrated data model for input to Hess’ ongoing analysis.
