3sun Group, MHI Vestas Secure Offshore Wind Project

3sun Group, energy industry product and service provider, has secured a contract with MHI Vestas Offshore for the electrical and mechanical completion of 73 V112-3.0MW turbines to be installed at the Humber Gateway Offshore Windfarm.

3sun Group subsidiary, Dawson Energy, worked with Vestas in 2001. The company has installed more than160 of their onshore wind farm turbines, though never worked with the turbine supplier on an offshore project. 

In accordance with contract terms, 3sun Group will provide technician teams for the offshore mechanical and electrical completion of the V112-3.0MW wind turbines. The planned 14 week work period will take place off the coast of North East Yorkshire from bases at Grimsby.

Installation of the first Humber Gateway turbine was completed ahead initial schedule on July 29, 2014. The project is due to be completed in spring 2015.
