Taut Wire Joins STR’s Growing Inventory

Global specialists in the design, production and rental of subsea technology for the offshore energy industry Subsea Technology & Rentals Ltd (STR) announced the addition of SMT’s LightWeight Taut Wire to its equipment sales and rental inventory.

The exclusive sales agency agreement will see STR promote and sell SMT Taut Wire product globally.

According to STR, benefits of this environmentally friendly system include its vertical height when stowed, the very small hydraulic power pack used to raise and lower the boom arm into position and the fact that only three small cables are required for installation into the vessel’s Dynamic Positioning (DP) system, plus two power cables between the power supplies and taut wire.
