Chris Ransome and Associates, Inc., a hydrographic survey company involved in a variety of on and under-water high technology projects nationwide, announced today that their newest 26 foot survey vessel arrived this week. The local Houston firm is excited about their newest addition to their business, and will be kicking off the celebration with a Southeast Texas- style crawfish boil.

The new survey yacht will be all-aluminum construction with a 9-foot cabin console and two 115 horsepower outboard engines. Scully’s Metal Fabrication, based out of Morgan City, La., have teamed up with Chris Ransome and Associates on the construction of the boat. With no name chosen yet, the boat will certainly follow its predecessors: the Seahawk, the Sunhawk and the Riverhawk.

“I am very happy to have a new purpose-built vessel capable of deploying all of the various sensors that we currently employ, but specifically to enable the use of the latest generation of multi-beam depth sounding systems together with a mobile LiDAR sensor,” said Chris Ransome, President.
