ATL Secures 10-Year OSV Contract for ExxonMobil
Atlantic Towing Limited (ATL) announced today that it has secured a new 10-year firm contract, plus a total of 15 years of options at the Charterers’ discretion, with ExxonMobil Canada Properties and Hibernia Management and Development Company Ltd. (HMDC) for four new state-of-the art Platform Supply Vessels operating out of St John’s, NL. The first ships for the contract will be delivered in 2016 and will join Atlantic Towing’s current fleet of eight offshore support vessels in Atlantic Canada.

Wärtsilä Gas Units Selected for Largest Ever Spar Platform
A new spar platform being built for Statoil's Aasta Hansteen field off the coast of Norway will feature Wärtsilä's Inert Gas and Nitrogen Generator systems, the power solutions company said. The contract has been issued in the first quarter 2014 by Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) of South Korea, the yard building the platform. The Wärtsilä Inert Gas Generator will utilize titanium in its construction, the first time ever that this material has been used in such a system.

DOF Subsea Wins Maersk Oil UK Contract
DOF Subsea UK Limited, a provider of integrated subsea solutions, has been awarded a contract by Maersk Oil UK to undertake replacement of the Dumbarton Drill Cluster Center (DCC) flexible production riser at the Global Producer 3 FPSO located in block 15/20 of UK sector North Sea. The work will take place at a water depth of 140m. Engineering work associated with the project has already commenced with the offshore works scheduled to begin in July 2014.

MMT Wins Statnett Survey Work
MMT said it has been awarded the SK4 & NorNed protection survey contract by Norway’s Statnett. This contract is divided into two separate projects and includes detailed high-resolution offshore ROV surveys and cable tracking. MMT has also been contracted for a geophysical and geotechnical survey of a cable corridor in Gandsfjorden, Norway. This year´s survey campaign for Statnett was granted to MMT.

Divers Guilty of Raiding Historic Shipwrecks
The Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) announced that two divers from Kent have pleaded guilty to not declaring valuable items from shipwrecks off the U.K. coast. David Knight and Edward Huzzey, both from Sandgate, admitted to 19 offences between them, contrary to section 236 and section 237 of the Merchant Shipping Act 1995. Items were taken from shipwrecks off the Kent coast, with the first known objects removed in 2001.

HYPACK to Release Real Time Point Cloud
Hydrographic surveying software company HYPACK, Inc. announced the release of its new REAL TIME POINT CLOUD, an upgrade to the HYPACK2014 release. The new program runs in conjunction with HYSWEEP SURVEY and displays both multibeam and topographic laser data in a corrected and geo-referenced color-coded point cloud. According to HYPACK , the REAL TIME POINT CLOUD program will be useful for easier feature detection and categorization, system calibration and verification, and data quality control.
