Supervision received: Reports to the Chief Engineer for T. S. Kennedy
Massachusetts Maritime Academy T. S. Kennedy is a geared-steam propelled vessel of 15,500 HP which conducts training for up to 600 cadets.
General responsibilities:
- Perform maintenance and maintain a safe working environment for cadets and crew
- Supervise cadets performing shipboard maintenance
- Ensure compliance with Academy policies and practices
- Maintain inventory control using NS5
- Order spare/replacement parts as required
- Accept and carry out assignments as directed by the chief engineer
- Participate in ship’s emergency response squad
- Participate in all Academy sponsored ship activations, to include sea term, annual underway period for cadet training, sail to and from , and participate in shipyard repairs
Qualifications and requirements:

- Experience working with maritime agencies including USCG, MARAD, MSC, USN, ABS
- Shipyard/Repair Inspector experience
Salary: $75,000 to $100,000 The Academy offers generous benefits policies and a competitive salary qualifications and experience. This position is exempt under the FLSA.
