Innovative MA-X Technology Contract for Mitcham

Mitcham Industries announced its Klein Marine Systems unit received a contract from a leading autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV) manufacturer to install its MA-X technology on a next gen system for evaluation by the U.S. Navy.MA-X represents a cost-effective gap-filler solution that has long been sought by the industry. Traditional side scan sonar imaging creates a nadir gap in the center of the image. By removing this gap, MA-X eliminates the need for overlapping survey lines time to achieve 100% coverage. For the operators of AUV's, this translates into extended mission duration, or

Mitcham Delivers BuoyLink 4DX RGPS Systems

Mitcham Industries said its Seamap subsidiary has completed deliveries of its BuoyLink 4DX RGPS positioning systems.   So far this year, Seamap has delivered orders totaling almost $3 million for the 4DX version of its BuoyLink product line. Axxis Geo Solutions and the WGP Group unit of Magseis Fairfield are among the customers receiving deliveries so far this year.Guy Malden, Co-CEO of Mitcham commented, "Our BuoyLink 4DX RGPS positioning system continues to gain traction with operators of seismic exploration vessels.  We believe that BuoyLink 4DX is quickly becoming the preferred

Mitcham Announces MA-X Sonar Product Deliveries

Mitcham Industries said its Klein Marine Systems unit has completed initial deliveries of new products based on its MA-X "gap filler" sonar technology.  Introduced earlier this year, MA-X technology is a cost-effective solution to filling the nadir gap that is characteristic of traditional side scan sonar.  By seamlessly covering the nadir region, MA-X based products eliminate the need for overlapping survey lines, resulting in an estimated 40% increase in efficiency."The reaction by the industry to MA-X we believe has been nothing short of incredible,” said Guy Malden

Klein Debuts MA-X Imaging Technology

Side scan sonar equipment developer Klein Marine Systems has developed a new, patent-pending technology called MA-X it believes will redefine ocean imaging, Klein's parent company Mitcham Industries announced this week.MA-X is essentially the next generation of side scan sonar whose arrays are physically mounted at an angle relative to the towfish or autonomous underwater vehicles (AUV) platform, Klein Marine Systems said. In this way, each narrow fan-beam is oriented at a downward and forward-grazing angle, resulting in an acoustic track over the sea bottom that starts from the port and starboard
