SEACON Micro WET-CON Connectors
TE Connectivity (TE) is implementing two improvements to its SEACON Micro WET-CON connectors that is designed to result in faster product turn-around and expedited delivery to customers. • Lead-Free and RoHS Compliant – In order to meet international standards, TE Connectivity began manufacturing all Micro WET-CON connectors lead-free and Restriction of Hazardous Substances Directive (RoHS) compliant starting on March 1, 2018. Previously, customers had to special order products that met these standards. There will be a brief transition period while old inventory is depleted

TE to Showcase New Wet-mate Connector
reliable connections. The new HydraElectric wet-mate connector has a modular construction and is available in industry standard panel, bulkhead and stab plate configurations. TE’s HydraElectric wet-mate connectors are designed for use in electrical and signal distribution networks in subsea control systems. These connectors meet the latest industry standards, including ISO13628-6 and API 17F-SEAFOM TSD-02; Statoil TR2390 Ver2 and Total GS EP SPS 021 Rev. 07; and Ethernet protocols, such as CAN Bus compatibility
TE Debuts New Wet-mate Connector
, including ISO 13628-6 and API 17F SEAFOM, this connector is available in remotely operated vehicle (ROV), stab plate and manual modes. The connector’s modular construction with 4, 7 or 12 electrical circuits enables many configurations for use in electrical, signal and distribution networks in subsea control systems. TE’s HydraElectric connector supports upcoming industry standards for subsea control system power distribution. Rugged marine systems require connectors with high speed communication capabilities and the ability to manage a range of operating currents. Qualified
Fiber-Optic Connector Technology for O&G Ops
, from a dozen or fewer today to 24 or even 48 fibers in the near future. Figure 1 shows the TE Connectivity’s (TE) SEACON 24/48 channel HydraLight wetmate connector for optical subsea distribution systems. Such advances in technology have increased interest in optical connectivity. Subsea connectors, for either copper or fiber cables, face an extremely harsh operating environment characterized by high pressure, temperature extremes and corrosion-friendly seawater. Despite operating in such adverse working conditions, a connector must be absolutely reliable throughout its design life
REP16: a Global At-sea Campaign
Vessels (ASVs), Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUVs) and Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs), equipped with different sensors and acoustic payloads, are being used together in the seventh annual edition of REP16-Atlantic exercise, a joint exercise of the Portuguese Navy, the NATO Centre for Maritime Research and Experimentation (CMRE), and the University of Porto. REP16-Atlantic stands for Recognized Environmental Picture (REP) Atlantic 2016 and it is being conducted from 5 to 31 July in the Atlantic Ocean, off the coast of Portugal, south of Sesimbra and Setubal. It also involves participants
HYDRALIGHT Optical Enables Deep Sea Communications
TE Connectivity (TE) will be at the 2016 Subsea Tieback Forum and Exhibition (SSTB 2016). TE’s will showcase the latest subsea optical connection solutions that provide reliable communications over long distances underwater, including the SEACON HYDRALIGHT optical underwater mateable connector series. Used for high-speed communications, production control, pumping systems, riser and permanent reservoir monitoring (PRM) systems, the HYDRALIGHT series is an eight-channel, fully underwater mateable, oil-filled, pressure-balanced and reliable connector qualified to 7,000 meters. This connector
