Metocean and marine consulting services provider Partrac announced it has appointed Phil Wilson as its new business development director.Wilson brings over 25 years of experience to the role, having worked in offshore energy, marine construction and dredging industries, with a recent focus on the offshore renewables sector.Wilson said, “It is a really exciting time to be joining the Partrac team to support the service development plans and extend the company’s reach and presence globally during 2024 and beyond.”

Inside the Subsea Cable Firm Secretly Helping America Take on China

the hands of U.S. companies like Google and SubCom is a win for Washington as it seeks to keep Chinese firms away from the internet hardware that will underpin global economic and military progress for decades to come, said Kellee Wicker, director of the Science and Technology Innovation Program at the Wilson Center, a Washington-based think tank.“Cables are an enormous lever of power,” Wicker said. “If you can’t control these networks directly, you want a company you can trust to control them.”(Reuters - Reporting by Joe Brock; Additional reporting by Phil Stewart, John

Subsea Vehicles: To Be (resident), or Not to Be?

But we share the aim of replacing conventional vessels. And we want to get rid of complex offshore

Hidden Behavior of Arctic Ocean Currents Could Alter Climate Change Predictions, Study finds

currently changing at unprecedented rates, this discovery could impact future predictions for climate change and the world’s rising surface temperatures.“The Arctic is changing at unprecedented rates and is warming twice as fast as the global average in recent years," said Dr. Chris Wilson, Physical Oceanographer from the National Oceanography Centre. "This study is of particular significance to our predictions into new aspects of The Arctic, as well as the global climate. It also provides us with crucial insight into how we can continue to develop and improve our future predictions

The Nortek Signature250 ADCP is deployed during a windfarm site survey undertaken by Partrac off the Orkney Islands, northern Scotland. Partrac chose the instrument because of its ability to provide highly accurate current profiling data out to 200 m, and wave height and direction data up to 150 m. Image courtesy Nortek

The Signature250 has proven to provide exceptional data thus far,” says Pete Wilson, Operations Director at Partrac.“We consider Nortek’s instrumentation design and technology very progressive and adoptive of the developments in information technology in general,” he says. However, it may be that mesophotic environments are unique in their own right.”Australian artist

Lee Wilson, who co-founded new company Honuworx at the start of 2020, says we now need to learn from the likes of Apple and Amazon and behave more like software companies, instead of sticking rigidly to a four-year technology roadmap and finding the world has changed at the end of it.So what does that involve
