Provider of mass flow excavation (MFE) services has achieved ISO 9001, ISO 4001 and OHSAS 18001 statuses.

James Fisher Subsea Excavation’s processes and operations were examined before the certifications were issued by DNV GL. The company applied for all three at once and achieved certification within six months of starting the process.

James Fisher Subsea Excavation, which has its headquarters in Oldmeldrum, Scotland, as well as bases worldwide in Houston, UAE, Singapore and Mexico, said it underwent three days of intense scrutiny to ensure its practices met with the high standards of the certifications.

ISO 9001 is a quality management standard that presents guidelines which are intended to increase business efficiency and customer satisfaction while ISO 14001 is an environmental management standard and OHSAS 18001 is an occupational health and safety management standard.

Kenneth R. Mackie, Managing Director of James Fisher Subsea Excavation, said: “I am incredibly proud of the team for delivering such a high standard of work across a number of areas every day – and now we have the certifications to prove it. The process involved in becoming ISO and OHSAS Certified is notoriously difficult and many companies have to make major changes after being audited before they can receive certification. We boldly made the decision to gain certification for all three standards simultaneously and achieved this goal on our first attempt within just six months of beginning the process. This is a fantastic achievement and evidence of our dedication and commitment to health and safety, quality and the environment.”
