With engineers pushing the limits of where fiber optics can be used, cables are being exposed to increasingly hostile environments. High temperature resistance is a major concern for applications as varied as downhole to space.

With this in mind, Linden has introduced a Mid-Temp (130C) STFOC, adding to the company’s existing standard and High-Temp (300C) STFOC.

Linden’s STFOC cables are available for a variety of underwater uses, from munitions tethers to ROV controls to littoral water sensing. Using its patented cable jacket construction designed to protect the fiber in the harsh subsea environment, Linden cables are compact and rugged; flexible and strong, the company said.
