Oceaneering Expands AUV Survey Services in West Africa

Oceaneering International, Inc. will expand its presence for autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV) survey services to the West African region, the Houston-based company announced.

Oceaneering, which currently serves the U.S Gulf of Mexico with a fleet of commercial AUVs designed for high resolution survey operations in water depths reaching 4,500 meters, said it is mobilizing one of its 3,000 meter rated AUVs to the region. The AUV is capable of performing deepwater geophysical hazard and pipeline inspection surveys, and provides clients with the necessary deepwater survey capabilities for pipeline surveys, as-built surveys, block surveys and pipeline inspections.

“Africa is a growing market. By expanding our AUV operations, we will have the opportunity to support new and existing customers more efficiently, and meet the increasing demand for survey services in deepwater blocks of Africa with cost-effective integrated solutions,” explained Pat Mannina, Vice President, ROV – Americas and Global Survey Services.
