Fugro to Host Technical Sessions at OTC

“Life-of-Field” will be the theme of Fugro’s technical presentations during the upcoming Offshore Technology Conference, May 5-8 in Houston.

A variety of timely topics will be covered in a series of brief technical sessions showcasing Fugro’s unique technology in geotechnical, survey and subsea disciplines, the company said. In the exhibition hall Fugro’s “Building the Future” display at Booth # 3721 will highlight the company’s worldwide presence and global resources, and its ability to support the exploration, development, production and transportation of the Earth’s natural resources.

Deepwater AUV innovations, both current and future, feature on the list of technical presentations; Fugro will also explore the role of AUVs in pipeline integrity inspection. The post-Macondo era has seen numerous regulatory changes and a dedicated session will focus on those affecting offshore drilling safety and the marine environment. In a session on gas hydrate implications for deepwater producing wells, Fugro shares its expertise whilst another highlights its specialist capabilities in this important field.

The technical sessions also cover advances in wellhead fatigue monitoring and provide an insight into Fugro’s ROV capabilities. A unique method of monitoring diving operations is detailed in a session which features advanced real-time 3D imaging sonar technology. With a background of highly-regarded technical operations in Brazil, another session provides up-to-date information on Fugro’s specialist capabilities in the region. Finally there is an introduction to Virtual Surveyors Offshore, an indispensable new service providing offshore survey services remotely.

Advance registration is required for Fugro’s technical presentations and places can be secured by contacting Dixie Poche’ at [email protected].
