InterMoor Awarded SPM Installation from PT Pertamina

InterMoor, an Acteon company, has been awarded a Single Point Mooring (SPM) installation from PT Pertamina in Indonesia.

The work is part of a contract for engineering, procurement, construction, installation and commissioning of Subsea Pipe Line (SPL) and Single Point Mooring (SPM) awarded to a consortium comprised of Indonesian EPC company PT.Rekayasa Industri and InterMoor Pte.

The award will contribute to the expansion of Pertamina’s refinery in Balongan, West Java. The refinery development master plan intends to increase the capacity of the Balongan refinery from 100 thousand barrels per day (bpd) to 280 thousand bpd. The current SPM loading terminal will be replaced with a new SPM loading terminal capable of mooring and offloading crude from tankers up to 165,000 DWT. The associated subsea pipeline, PLEM and other equipment will also be replaced.
InterMoor will be responsible for the installation engineering, procedures, equipment and manpower for the SPM. The design work will include a 6-leg mooring system of driven piles and chain, that will be pre-installed. InterMoor will work with sister companies MENCK and LM Handling, both specialists in driving subsea piles. InterMoor’s work scope includes the installation of two floating hoses, an umbilical, two mooring hawsers, the PLEM, and the hook-up of the SPM to the pre-installed mooring system.
The contract was signed at Pertamina Head Office in Jakarta, in a traditional Indonesian way on October 10, 2016. Mr. Simon Gatcliffe, commercial manager, signed the contract along with PT. Pertamina President Mr. Dwi Soetjipto , PT Pertamina Processing Director Mr. Rachmad Hardadi  and PT Rekayasa Industri’s CEO Mr. Jobi Triananda Hasjim .
The project will start immediately and will be executed out of InterMoor Pte. Ltd, Singapore. The project is scheduled to be completed in 21 months.
