SUMMARY COMPANY PROFILE

Nevesbu is a company of Naval Architects, Marine Engineers and Consultants. Its origins date back to 1935 when B.V. Nederlandse Verenigde Scheepsbouw Bureaus was founded to create a knowledge centre on naval design and engineering.

Submarine Design Capabilities

The submarine experience of Nevesbu goes back to the founding year in which the design was started for the export submarines Sep and Orzel for the Polish Navy.

Since its foundation on 1935 ‘till today, Nevesbu has been, and still is, active in the design of submarines or parts thereof. This includes participation in the design of all post-WWII submarines of the Royal Netherlands Navy, the boats for Taiwan, the HDW 214 class for Greece and South Korea. In recent years Nevesbu participates in the design of a new submarine for a confidential client as well as platform engineering for the the mid-life modernization of the Walrus class submarines.

The submarine experience includes feasibility studies, engineering studies, consultancy support, detailed design and engineering for new building as well as refit, design of mechanical systems such as torpedo handling installations, rudder linkage, shaft lines, etc.

Besides submarines, Nevesbu has developed to become an engineering and consultancy company dedicated to offshore, naval and specialist vessels.

Products

Nevesbu is unique amongst naval architects and marine engineering companies by virtue of the in-house availability of all disciplines required to cover the complete design of ships.

In-house disciplines include: naval architecture; design and engineering of marine systems and HVAC; mechanical engineering and design; structural engineering and design; electrical and instrumentation design and engineering.

In-house disciplines include: naval architecture; design and engineering of marine systems and HVAC; mechanical engineering and design; structural engineering and design; electrical and instrumentation design and engineering.

The structural and mechanical disciplines deserve special mentioning for their extensive capabilities as a consequence of the naval experience. The structural discipline is excellently versed in complicated (FE) structural analyses as well as the experience with fatigue assessment and lifetime extension of existing offshore units. The mechanical discipline has specific experience with the reduction of noise and vibration of technical installations as well as design and engineering of mechanical handling/manipulation tools. The latter capability is based on the experience with design of torpedo transport handling installations in submarines as well as pipe handling systems on board pipe-laying vessels.
