The Oceanic Platform of the Canary Islands -PLOCAN- is a public consortium facility engaged to promote science and technology developments in the marine and maritime sectors through a cost-effective and sustainable multipurpose services combination as coastal and deep-ocean observatory, test site, underwater vehicles base, highly specialized training and innovation hub.

PLOCAN’s main goal is to make available in an efficient and sustainable way all those necessary infrastructures and equipment, enable to provide the permanent service and support required for multidisciplinary technological development related to marine and maritime technologies, as well as the multipurpose operation thereof, generating national and international synergistic cooperation scenarios with technology-based companies and institutions.
