Products

The ROMOR C-ROM (Compact Recoverable Ocean Mooring) is an oceanographic subsurface mooring solution that offers a reliable and compact design to mooring and recovering oceanographic instrumentation. The C-ROM consists of a subsurface flotation collar that provides approximately 80 lbs positive buoyancy for use in a seawater environment for depths up to 500m without degradation of the materials or the flotation value for a minimum of 5 years.

The C-ROM floatation collar encloses a customer specified acoustic release assembly as well as the client specified instrument that can be accommodated within the dimensions of the design.

The ROMOR Elliptical Mooring is another oceanographic tool generated by ROMOR to assist in higher current areas for various types of subsea instrumentation. The elliptical shape provides half the drag in currents when compared to a traditional spherical buoy, thus providing the most stable platform for instrumentation throughout the water column. The syntactic foam with elastomer finish provides an extremely durable package to endure the harsh environments and temperatures of the ocean. The standard units are depth rated to 750m and 1500m, with optional 2500m, 3500 and 6000m available.

Other products and solutions offered by ROMOR include underwater acoustic navigation and positioning, hydrophone arrays, subsea and surface modems, mooring assemblies, flotation, Acoustic Release/Transponders, Hydrographic/Geophysical equipment and maritime security applications.

The February 2024 edition of Marine Technology Reporter is focused on Oceanographic topics and technologies.
