DANTE’s Solar PowerPak Makes Debut

Posted by Irina Tabakina

Soundnine Inc. (S9) shipped eight  DANTE Buoy Controller Systems with a new Solar PowerPak. S9 Value Added Partner and systems integrator Imbros Pty. Ltd. of Hobart, Tasmania will install the Buoy Controllers, Solar PowerPaks and Sea-Bird Scientific water quality monitoring instruments on locally fabricated buoys, producing  turnkey monitoring systems with Iridium data telemetry. The mechanical designs of the Controller and PowerPak permitted a smaller, simplified and less costly buoy. The turnkey DANTE System is designed to provide a total solution for measurement acquisition, data delivery,  and data display and management. The DANTE Buoy Controller was introduced at Oceans 2013. The new Solar PowerPak will make its public debut at Oceans 2014. It can be used with up to four plug-in solar panels that are immersion-proof, corrosion-proof and extremely robust, thanks to a unique reinforced composite construction.
